What is Everyday Miracles Peer Support Center?
Everyday Miracles Peer recovery Support Center (EDM) creates conditions that support recovery and wellness at both the individual and community level through pee support. EDM strives to create opportunities through which relationships, community and a network of supports can develop. On a day - to - day basis, that effort may take the form of a community meeting, a support group, trainings and learning opportunities, social event, a computer workshop and/or simply offering a safe place where people can communicate with others.
Everyday Miracles maintains a peer driven schedule Monday - Saturday where recovery related workshops, trainings, services, meetings and social events are consistently delivered. To date the center serves approximately one hundred people each day in recovery or friends and family who are concerned with recovery. Everyday Miracles Peer Recovery Center provides a safe environment where shared experience leads to empowerment, respect and a sense of wellness.
IS EDM FOR ME?
EDM supports all sorts of different people. We welcome ages 18 and above, backgrounds and experiences who have experienced significant struggles in their life. EDM succeeds because it offer environment free of stigma and judgement - one that supports members to pursue their own personal growth as they work toward becoming active participants in their community.
- Children are welcome in the center during groups, EDM activities. MUST BE SUPERVISED BY AN ADULT AT ALL TIME WHILE IN THE CENTER.
POPULATION SERVED
Everyday Miracles Peer Recovery Support Center provided peer-peer support services for adults at varying stages of recovery, family members and friends with real-life experience, and members of the community who support recovery. "Peers" are individuals who have experienced addiction and recovery, either directly or as a family or friend.
Volunteer opporunties
Volunteering creates opportunities for individuals to help others and give back to the recovery community. For many, this becomes a key to sustaining their own recovery. it also gives members a voice in designing activities that address their needs and interests.
At Everyday Miracles Peer Recovery Support Center, volunteers may be involved in a number of ways, including recovery coaching, telephone support, event planning, community outreach, and more. As an added benefit, volunteering can uncover hidden talents, enhance job skills and build resumes.
